Mac techie stuff

Well just spent about 2hrs preparing my Mac to install OSX and there's something wrong with the bloody disk! It's a copy so I've no chance of phoning tech support! :) SO, I was wondering - do any of my lovely Mac savvy friends out there have a copy of OSX with updaters they wouldn't mind letting me have.... I would be extremely grateful!Thanx

travellings

Just back from hols number 2 for this year! :-) When I decided this was the year of travelling I meant it! Had a lovely couple of days in Rome, even managed to find a couple of alternative venues though they were a bit.. erm.. odd shall we say. Had to leave Jon there though as he's working on the rugby BOO! Weirdly this was the first time I have ever done the whole driving to airport, parking, getting flight and then getting to hotel in foreign country thing by myself - I must be a grown-up now! (Didn't get lost either though did miss the car park turning at Stansted and ended cutting up some poor sod in a last minute swerve - all at 4.45am. Not good!)Also, apologies to miss_soap for not making it out last night - by the time I got home I felt really knackered and greasy and just really wanted a bath.. sorry - that's a but crap BUT I am up bright and early with no hangover today so was just wondering...What's everyone up to today?I've had a call from Scorpion in Camden to say my boots are in - woohoo - so anyone fancy meeting up for pub lunch type things later?

eeek - venue problems!

Am trying to organise a birthday piss-up for ME on Sat 21st but all my favourite venues are booked :( (I know - should have done it earlier). Have tried the Angelic, Babushka, Chapel bar and the Royal George.... does anyone know of any other good venues in the Angel/Kings X area? I'm just looking for a pub with a function room type thing or something similar...Thanx!

party venue?

Can anyone help?I'm considering having a bit of a party for my birthday at the end of Feb and I'm looking for a cool venue that won't break the bank. Just called 'The Clink' (medieval prison museum on south bank) for a quote and it was £3k!!!! That, by the way, is over my budget!I know some of you are very good at party stuff, some memorable events by Beric and others spring to mind! So any venue suggestions would be much appreciated :-)

much fun >-)

Super duper techy teeth!

Wow - just had a revolutionary visit to my dentist!Last week he announced I seemed to have gained not 1 but 3(!!) holes in my teeth since last year (must cut down on fizzy cola bottles!). But instead of getting the hideous, whiny drill out he merely got me back this week to zap my teeth with ozone and give me a weird toothpaste which will 'heal' the small cavities!!It was amazing! No pain, no injections, no Sarah stuck to the ceiling.... Apparently it is the shape of things to come and it wasn't even as expensive as white fillings. Woo Hoo!

Book of the bloody decade!

Well I'm still reeling from my garage quote but having a burning desire to inform everyone I possibly can to read this book!No Logo by Naomi Klein http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0006530400/qid=1073674401/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_10_1/202-0302838-0555040Amazing, thought provoking, riveting, intelligent..... I could go on. Without going into too much detail it's about globalisation, consumer culture, branding, bling etc etc. If you ever needed help forming a lucid argument about why paying £150 for a pair of Nike trainers is fucking criminal (apart from just knowing this by gut instinct), a decent intellectual criticism of 'bling', another reason to hate conspicuous consumption, logo wearing fashion nazi's or just the facts and figures behind all that stuff this is the book for you!Have just finished it and I am shocked, enraged, inspired, appalled, excited and just down right blown away....Show me the activists - I am there! Hmmmm.... must calm down.Anyway - think I noticed it in Fopp Records by Piccadilly Circus (opp Les Mis') for about £3 if you're interested...
